| Now that you have your site it is time to build it. If you are really good at writing HTML code you can write your site in a reagular test editor such as notepad, and use an FTP program to upload it to your server. Notepad should already be on your computer in your accessories menu. When you are ready to upload it you can use the built in FTP prgram in your internet explorer window. To do this you will simply type ftp://yourusername@yoursitename.com (or .net, or .org, etc.) Then you will be prompted to enter your username and password to your server. After you do this, you will see all the files in your server. Be sure you know which folders are writing directly to your site, or else you may put your documents in the wrong place and you won't be able to see them. If you are not familiar with any of this, call the web hosting company and ask them where your files should be writing to. |
